The Channel Islands 'CI Mid' Side Bites are engineered by the Merrick family in collaboration Devon Howard and artisan fin makers True Ames. These 'Side Bites' side fins can be purchased as a set of side fins to accompany other single fins aswell as being purchased separately too and used in conjunction with the 'CI Mid Single Fin'.

Channel Islands bring you a fin set up to help re-define the way your mid-length surfboard rides. It can be ridden as a straight single or two different size side bites are available separately, depending on your inclination or weight. Born from exploring the performance possibilities of the CI Mid model surfboard.

'As we know, fins can make or break any surfboard. For the 'CI Mid' or any similar midlength surfboard. Channel Islands worked closely with Southern California surfer Devon Howard to custom build this 2 + 1 set that enhances the new Channel Islands midlength’s high-performance characteristics, as well as proving to be versatile in a wide range of conditions with just a simple adjustment of the centre fin. 

Thanks to decades' worth of knowledge, Channel Islands have refined the design of this fin. Beautiful, tidy, well-balanced outline with full base and moderate rake that was hand foiled for medium flex—making for a very responsive ride with just the right amount of hold and lift that helps you accelerate through turns. Shaped from clear fiberglass panels, the CI Mid’s 6.5” center box fin is available with either 4” FCS two-tab side bites for medium to bigger sized surfers, or 3.6” for lighter weight riders around 160lbs and under.'
